Jean Barney, LPC

Jean Barney, LPCJean has a Master's Degree from Marywood University, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a member of the American Mental Health Counseling Association. She has over 25 years experience in the areas of Behavioral Health, Adoption and Attachment Issues, and Child Welfare. Jean is a Professor Emeritus in the areas of Developmental Psychology, Sociology, and Human Services. Jean's specialty is working with children from toddler through twelve years of age; however, with a strength in developmental issues and attachment issues across the lifespan, she also counsels young and middle-aged adults, "Baby Boomers", and couples wanting to strengthen their relationships.  In working with the populations listed above, the diagnoses of anxiety and depression are on the forefront of her work.  Jean is also active in the court system where she works with families and children post-divorce, and functions as an advocate for the child/family in the school system.
